Atlanta Falcons Eye First Three-Game Win Streak vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Atlanta Falcons (6-6) are seemingly in a groove after rattling off consecutive victories and leading the NFC South as the only team in the division with at least a .500 record.
This week, the Falcons will face a divisional foe, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-7) at home in Atlanta. As the team approaches that matchup, quarterback Desmond Ridder revealed that it has the the goal of accomplishing something the Falcons have failed to achieve all season.
“We’re just ready to go back to work and get better,” Ridder said. “We haven’t stacked three wins in a row this year. We’ve stacked two twice now. So, we’ve got to be able to keep our head, come back home, and be able to go out and get a third win.”
Tampa Bay has already suffered a loss to Atlanta earlier this season in Week 7 when the Falcons flew down south to hand the Bucs a 16-13 loss and take possession of first place in the division for the first time this year.
Falcons Win Ugly vs. Jets, But Make NFC South Standings Look Pretty
Now that Atlanta is back atop the NFC South, it will need to prove that it can build a sizable winning streak to make the playoffs and give the young players on the roster the confidence necessary to make a statement once they’re in.
Before any playoff success can happen, though, the Falcons must show the reigning division champion Buccaneers that they’re talented enough to sweep them this regular season by securing a third win in a row on Sunday.
