Falcons BREAKING: Bijan Robinson Picks New Number (Trade with Koo)

Atlanta Falcons first-round pick Bijan Robinson has officially chosen a jersey number.
In this story:

The 2023 NFL Draft has now been in the books for a few days, but there's still important business to be done for the Atlanta Falcons' rookie class.

Among them is selecting jersey numbers for each rookie, especially with minicamp set to get started in the coming days.

Naturally, all eyes were on first-round pick Bijan Robinson's choice ... and the answer came in Tuesday as to which number the running back will carry.

The Falcons announced that Robinson will wear No. 7, which has been worn by kicker Younghoe Koo since 2019 and was previously donned by quarterback Michael Vick.

Robinson wore No. 5 at Texas, but that was unavailable in Atlanta, as 2022 first-round pick Drake London already has it. Another potential option for Robinson was No. 8, which he wore growing up as a member of the Tucson Falcon, but star tight end Kyle Pitts has had that for two years.

With those two and several other oft worn running back numbers off the board, it appears as if Robinson and Koo struck a deal to get No. 7, now giving the Falcons the 7-8-9 trio of Robinson, Pitts and quarterback Desmond Ridder.

The 21-year-old Robinson is coming off a stellar junior season for the Longhorns, earning unanimous All-American honors after running for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns while averaging over six yards per carry. He was also a threat in the passing game, hauling in 19 passes for 314 yards and two scores.

And now, he'll look to carry over that same success to Atlanta - with a new number on his back.
