Falcons Draft: Mock Trade with Tennessee Titans?

The Tennessee Titans could be looking to trade up in the first round of the NFL Draft. Could the Atlanta Falcons be their trade partner?
In this story:

The Atlanta Falcons are heading into the first round of tonight's NFL Draft with the No. 8 overall pick, but that doesn't mean the team will end up making its first selection there.

If there's a run on quarterbacks before the Falcons are on the clock, or even if there are multiple players Atlanta would be happy to take at No. 8, general manager Terry Fontenot could eye a trade back.

A team that has surfaced as a potential trade partner with the Falcons is the Tennessee Titans, who hold the No. 11 pick going into Thursday night.

The Falcoholic's Kevin Knight proposed a potential trade that could take place between the Falcons and Titans should a deal go through.

ATL receives: Pick 11 Pick 72 (3rd) Pick 147 (5th)

TEN receives: Pick 8 Pick 224 (7th) Pick 225 (7th)

It's a similar deal to that of Falcons reporter Tori McElhaney, who also trades back with the Titans in her mock draft, but for a second-round pick this year and a fourth-rounder in 2024.

The Titans would look for a trade up if a quarterback slips past the first five picks. If Anthony Richardson or C.J. Stroud is still available after the Seattle Seahawks make their pick, it could result in a phone call to the Falcons front office.

The Falcons and Titans are very familiar with one another and could be workable trade partners. The Falcons dealt Julio Jones to the Titans back in 2021 and coach Arthur Smith still has some of his old co-workers in the building in Tennessee.

There is a new general manager in Tennessee with Ran Carthon handling the reigns in his first NFL Draft. For a new GM, taking a quarterback could be key, especially if the value is right, and the Falcons could be the key to help make it happen.
