Falcons Host Draft Visit with Texas LB DeMarvion Overshown, Old Dominion TE Zack Kuntz

The Atlanta Falcons are reportedly set to host Texas Longhorns linebacker DeMarvion Overshown for a visit ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft and have already met with Old Dominion tight end Zack Kuntz.
In this story:

With the 2023 NFL Draft just over three weeks away, the Atlanta Falcons are getting closer to setting their final draft board.

But for now, there's still work to be done - headlined by visits and meetings with potential prospects, something Atlanta's been busy with of late.

According to NFL Network, the Falcons are scheduled to host Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown for a top-30 visit.

Overshown has already met or is scheduled to meet with the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos.

The 6-3, 229-pound Overshown was recruited as a safety but transitioned to linebacker in 2019 and has started 31 games over the last three years.

Overshown, 22, was named first team All-Big 12 this past season after collecting career highs in tackles (96), tackles for loss (10) and sacks (four). He ran a 4.56 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine.

But wait, there's more.

Per The Draft Network, Old Dominion tight end Zack Kuntz has met virtually with the Falcons, among several other teams.

Kuntz, who stands 6-7, 255 pounds, played three years at Penn State before transferring to the Monarchs, where he earned first-team All-Conference USA honors in 2021.

A native of Camp Hill, Pa., Kuntz had a standout Combine marked by a 4.55 40-yard dash; his stock is trending upwards after missing the final seven games of 2022 due to an undisclosed injury.

Atlanta's expressed interest in several tight ends, including hosting Iowa's Sam LaPorta for a top-30 visit and sending coach Justin Peelle to Michigan's pro day for potential top-100 pick Luke Schoonmaker.

At this point in the process, it's possible all three of Kuntz, LaPorta and Schoonmaker go in the top-100 ... and with Kyle Pitts and Jonnu Smith under contract, the Falcons don't seem to have a need to address the position that early.

But the answer will be in soon enough, with the first round of the NFL Draft set to begin on Apr. 27.
