The Atlanta Falcons have put together an extensive free agent class - and added to it Friday.

The Falcons officially announced the signing of offensive tackle Joshua Miles, formerly of the Arizona Cardinals.

The 6-5, 325-pound Miles was drafted by the Cardinals in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft after a standout college career at Morgan State.

Miles, 27, played in seven games as a rookie and 10 games in 2021 but none in 2020.

This past season, Miles was waived/injured and placed on injured reserve by the Cardinals at the end of training camp and did not appear in any games.

Miles had a visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers earlier this week.

In Atlanta, Miles will bring proven NFL experience to the reserve offensive line during training camp and will be given a chance to fight for a roster spot.

The Falcons recently re-signed Germain Ifedi, who served as a swing tackle last season, which would presumably be the role Miles is competing for or adding depth to.

Atlanta’s starting tackles are slated to be veteran Jake Matthews on the blindside and recently extended Kaleb McGary on the strong side of quarterback Desmond Ridder.

Now, Miles is set to join the offensive line room this summer - with a chance for an elongated stay certainly possible.
