Atlanta Falcons Fans Providing Unbeatable Home Field Advantage?
The Atlanta Falcons walked away from Sunday's game against the Houston Texans with a win thanks to an effort from the players and the home crowd.
Through three games in Atlanta this season, the Falcons are undefeated, and linebacker Nate Landman credited the fans for helping keep momentum on the home team's side in the second half.
“We had momentum during that period," Landman said. "The crowd was with us, and we were able to make those type of plays keep him on his toes. I think we did a great job coming out in the second half with energy.”
After two tough road losses, a home game in Atlanta proved that there's no place like home, especially for quarterback Desmond Ridder. Ridder is undefeated at home and winless on the road through nine professional contests.
Ridder was on the hot seat entering the game against the Texans, but for perhaps the first time this season, he looked like the player the Falcons drafted coming out of Cincinnati. In his college days, Ridder was a perfect 26-0 at home, making him 31-0 at home as of late.
While finding success will be paramount for the success of Atlanta this season, the defense should continue to keep them in contests after holding Houston to just one touchdown and multiple field goals.
Whether or not Ridder can continue his home success rate this season remains to be seen, but if the fans can continue to provide energy all season at home, then the Falcons have a chance to stay in the playoff race.
