DB Jammie Robinson Has Falcons Draft 30 Visit, Eyes Atlanta Homecoming
Florida State safety Jammie Robinson is known for many things.
From earning freshman All-SEC honors at South Carolina to becoming the first Florida State defensive back since All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey to be named first-team All-ACC in consecutive years, Robinson had a storied four-year college career.
But perhaps most importantly, Robinson is a Georgia native, hailing from Cordele, some two hours South of Atlanta.
And now, he's of the top defensive backs in the 2023 NFL Draft ... and firmly on the Atlanta Falcons' radar.
According to The Draft Network, Robinson is scheduled to have a top-30 visit with the Falcons, which means a longer meeting and potential in-person, individualized workout.
Considering teams only get 30 such visits (hence the name), there's evidently a degree of interest in Robinson ... and this isn't the first such inkling of that idea.
Robinson told Sports Illustrated's Falcon Report that he had a "great" formal interview with Atlanta at the NFL Combine and would cherish the opportunity to play in front of his family.
"I know it's closer to home, but I feel like I can block all that out," said Robinson, who grew up a Falcons fan. "Being from Georgia, being able to help (the state of) Georgia win a Super Bowl, that's what it's about - I want to win a championship."
Robinson, 22, started all 13 games this past season for the Seminoles, logging a team-high 99 tackles, five of which were for loss. He added five pass breakups and an interception, drawing comparisons to Houston Texans safety Jalen Pitre for his versatility in alignment on the back end.
Now, Robinson could bring that versatility - and hometown passion - to his childhood team ... with his eyes focused on the ultimate prize: the first Super Bowl title in franchise history.
