Falcons Preseason Schedule Revealed: Times, Dates, Opponents

The NFL preseason is less than three months away. When will the Atlanta Falcons play?
In this story:

The Atlanta Falcons now know when all of their games will take place this season ... including the preseason.

While the most-anticipated date on the schedule comes Sept. 10 at home in the season opener against Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers, there are three games before that will build that anticipation for the start of the regular season.

On Friday, Aug. 11, the Falcons will take their talents down to South Beach to face Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium at 7 p.m.

Then, the Falcons return home for two preseason meetings against AFC North opponents.

In the Falcons' home opener for the preseason, Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals come to town for the "dress rehearsal" game on Aug. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Usually the second preseason game is when starters see the most action, so this should be a good test for the new-look Falcons defense. It will also pit new Falcons safety Jessie Bates III against his former team.

Then, in the preseason finale on Thursday, Aug. 24, the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Atlanta. Given the fact that there is more than two weeks from the final preseason game and the regular season opener, there's a chance that the starters could see a lot of action in this game as well.

Ultimately, the goal for the preseason is to stay healthy and get loose in time for the 18-week marathon that is the NFL season. As long as the Falcons do that, it should be a successful preseason.
