BREAKING: Falcons Sign All-Pro OG Chris Lindstrom to Contract Extension

The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to a contract extension with star right guard Chrus Lindstrom.

Just moments before the start of communications with outside free agents, the Atlanta Falcons took care of one of their own.

According to NFL Network, the Falcons have agreed to a five-year, $105 million contract with right guard Chris Lindstrom, keeping him as the leader of the offensive line for the foreseeable future.

Lindstrom's $21 million annual salary is the fourth-largest contract for an offensive lineman in NFL history, behind only Trent Williams, David Bakhtiari and Laremy Tunsil, and the largest ever for a guard, just beating out Quenton Nelson's $20 million.

The 2019 first-round pick was set to play the 2023 season on the fifth-year option.

Lindstrom was Atlanta's lone Pro Bowler and truly came into his own this past year, earning a 95 overall grade from Pro Football Focus, the highest of any offensive lineman in the NFL - and now has a contract that reflects it.

Further, Lindstrom was Atlanta's Walter Payton Man of the Year winner, given annually to the player with the biggest impact off the field within each locker room.

Lindstrom, 25, said he "want(s) to be a Falcon for my whole career," and will now play under a contract that should take him through his prime ... all while leading the way both on and off the field.
