LOOK: Taylor Heinicke Buys New Shoes After Falcons Win vs. Colts
For the first time as the starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, Taylor Heinicke led the team to a win.
Not only did the 29-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts mean that the Falcons snapped a three-game losing streak, which keeps their playoff hopes alive, as they rose to second place in the NFC South, but it also meant Heinicke got to purchase a new pair of sneakers.
In a tradition that began two seasons ago when he was a member of the Washington Commanders, Heinicke began buying Air Jordan shoes in the same colorway as the opponent against whom he had just led the team to victory.
As ESPN detailed in an article last year, Heinicke's love for Jordan shoes was born after his Washington teammates would joke with him about having "no swag." Now, over 60 pairs of shoes later, the same cannot be said.
One of those over 60 pairs came against the Falcons last season, as Heinicke helped the Commanders beat the Falcons 19-13 last November, as he engineered a game-winning drive. Over a year later, he bought a pair of new Jordans as a member of the Falcons; this time, though, it was in a similar colorway to the Indianapolis Colts.
Heinicke was named the Falcons' starting quarterback for the second time this season after his first stint in relief of Desmond Ridder lasted just two games before a hamstring injury saw Atlanta pivot back to the second-year signal-caller. After going winless in his first two starts in Atlanta, Heinicke was back under center for statistically the best performance of the season for the Falcons offense.

While Heinicke completed 23 of his 33 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown, the Falcons scored the most points in a game all season at 29 and won by their largest point differential.
Heinicke will be looking to lead the Falcons to a victory again on Sunday as they travel to Soldier Field to face the Chicago Bears and buy a new pair of shoes. Kickoff inside Soldier Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
