ESPN TE Rankings: Where's Falcons' Kyle Pitts?
During the 2022 season, the Atlanta Falcons established themselves as one of the top rushing teams in the NFL, ranking second in the league with an average of 159.9 rushing yards per game.
On the flip side, the Falcons experienced significant challenges in their passing game, particularly due to a notable decline in the production of tight end Kyle Pitts compared to his rookie year.
Despite his remarkable achievement of 1,026 receiving yards in 2021, Pitts struggled during the 2022 season, accumulating only 356 receiving yards in 10 games before suffering an MCL tear.
Due to experiencing a decline in production last season, Pitts' status as a premier tight end in the NFL has been somewhat affected. However, in a recent ESPN article featuring rankings from over 80 executives, coaches, and scouts, Pitts secured the No. 7 spot among the top 10 tight ends. The article suggests that he possesses the potential to climb higher in ESPN's rankings in the upcoming season, reaffirming his promising future in the league.
"The promise of Pitts, an all-world talent, is still very much intact. And it would be no surprise if he's top-five or higher next year," ESPN writes.
Training camp will play a crucial role for Pitts as it will allow him to establish a strong connection with second-year quarterback Desmond Ridder, who is entering his first full season as the starting signal caller. As Pitts aims to exceed 1,000 receiving yards for the second time in three years, their joint efforts and preparation will be essential in achieving this milestone.
