The Atlanta Falcons must go back to the drawing board when it comes to the trade market.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New York Jets are acquiring defensive end Haason Reddick for a conditional 2026 draft pick.

Reddick has been on the trade block all offseason long, and the Falcons were linked to him throughout the process.

Despite making a name for himself as one of the top pass-rushers in Philadelphia over the past two seasons, Reddick was reportedly permitted to start seeking a trade away from the Eagles back in February. After accumulating 27 sacks and 49 quarterback hits in two seasons, he made sense for the Falcons to target in a trade.

After ranking near the bottom of the league in sacks in 2022, last offseason's free agent spending spree saw the Falcons' sack total improve. After the additions of Bud Dupree, Calais Campbell, and David Oneyemata, the Falcons finished last season with 42, which doubled from what they had the year before.

However, two of those additions, Campbell and Dupree, have yet to re-sign with the Falcons. Campbell, 37, is even openly considering retirement after finishing his 15th season in the league with 6.5 sacks. With neither Campbell nor Dupree guaranteed to come back, the Falcons should be targeting pass rushers in free agency, the draft and the trade market.

Now, it appears as if the best pass rusher available is no longer such ... forcing the Falcons to re-evaluate how they can upgrade their front seven.
