Cowboys Trade Talk on Falcons’ Kyle Pitts via Dez Bryant; Why?

The production of Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts continues to be a big talking point as former Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryants wants to see him traded.
In this story:

Should the Atlanta Falcons trade away former first-round draftee Kyle Pitts

If you ask former Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant, the answer is yes, they should trade away the former No. 4 overall pick.

Bryant's reasoning for wanting to see the Falcons trade Pitts isn't about the Falcons' best interest or even maybe a hint of unhappiness; rather, he'd like to see Pitts traded to his former team. … in part because his perception of Atlanta’s poor usage of the tight end

In a tweet on Wednesday, Bryant posted a picture of Pitts standing wide-open during the Falcons' season-opening win versus the Carolina Panthers. Bryant used this picture to say that Pitts being that open and not getting the ball is "unacceptable" and that he "deserves better."

"Get (Pitts) to Dallas, please," Bryant wrote.

Through two seasons in Atlanta, Pitts hasn't proven to be the same dynamic playmaker he was in college at the University of Florida. Whether that is his fault or the Falcons' may depend on who you ask. … though this run-first philosophy is surely involved.

Pitts did show a lot of promise and found immediate production as a rookie, totaling 1,026 yards and a touchdown on 68 receptions in 2021. However, his numbers drastically dropped last season, where he recorded just 28 catches for 356 yards and two scores before a season-ending injury.

Even with the relatively modest numbers last season and just the two catches he had on Sunday against the Panthers, it is hard to imagine if Pitts being dumped here.

If available? The Cowboys could be bidder. But the biggest question is if the Falcons would even consider a trade of the third-year tight end. ... As of right now, that doesn't seem likely.
