Packers vs. Falcons GAMEDAY: How to Watch, Betting Odds
The Atlanta Falcons welcome the new-look Green Bay Packers to town on Sunday as both teams have aspirations of improving their records to 2-0 on the young season.
While the Packers have a new quarterback in fourth-year signal caller Jordan Love after the departure of Aaron Rodgers, the team still looks like the old Packers. “It's a stable organization," Falcons coach Arthur Smith said. “They’ve got their way of doing things that probably hasn’t changed.”
After an impressive win over their division rival Chicago Bears in Week 1, the Packers and Love hope to continue the offensive momentum gained in the 38-20 win. Love threw for 245 yards and three touchdowns in just his second career start.
“I kept telling myself, ”I'm going to play great, we're all going to play great,'" Love said. “That's what I just kept telling myself over and over again.”
The Falcons also opened the season with a division win, a 24-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers and rookie quarterback Bryce Young. It's the first time since 2017 that the Falcons can claim a winning record.
Atlanta hopes to keep rookie running back Bijan Robinson involved in the offense in Week 2. “That's the stuff we see every day in practice,” Smith said. “We’ll line him up all over the place and there’s still more he can do. He’s such a unique player.”
Robinson rushed for 56 yards on 10 carries, including a 21-yarder that set up the Falcons' first touchdown. Fellow back Tyler Allgeier carried 15 times for 75 yards and two touchdowns in the Week 1 win.
