Falcons vs. Saints GAMEDAY: How to Watch, Betting Odds
The New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons are still alive in the NFC South standings as they face off in the season finale.
The winner of today's game will win the division if the Carolina Panthers beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Both teams are without a winning record but every game in December has been a meaningful one and mattered.
“Thankfully, luckily, we still got a chance,” Saints safety Tyrann Mathieu said.
A win for either team won't clinch anything. They both need a Buccaneers loss to clinch. If Tampa Bay wins, they're the South champions. But the Bucs have lost three of their last four and have looked terrible in the process. So there is hope for both Atlanta and New Orleans.
If the Bucs win, the Falcons are out. But New Orleans still has a chance with a win on Sunday and losses by both Green Bay and Seattle.
“The thankful thing for us is at least we have an opportunity,” Falcons coach Arthur Smith said. “A little bit is obviously out of our control, but what we do control is a huge game. Prepare for the Saints. Go down there Sunday and let’s see what happens.”
