Atlanta Falcons vs. New York Jets GAMEDAY: How to Watch, Betting Odds
The Atlanta Falcons head north to face the New York Jets as both teams hope to find consistency in their respective playoff pursuits.
The Falcons beat the Saints last week to snap a three-game skid and lead the NFC South with a below .500 record.
“Consistency, right?" Falcons coach Arthur Smith said. “That’s the biggest challenge week to week. For us to take the next step, we need to do that with being consistent and playing with the same focus and energy that we had going into last week.”
The Jets have lost their last four games but still has playoff aspirations in a down season for the AFC. There is also still hope for the return of Aaron Rodgers under center before the end of the season.
“There’s a lot of frustration all over the place, especially on the offensive side of the ball,” Saleh said. “Guys are searching, they’re reaching, and sometimes you've just got to go back to understanding who you are and what your style of play is.”
The possible return of Rodgers is still a major topic in New York as he recovers from a torn Achilles suffered on the fourth play of the season in Week 1. The four-time league MVP returned to practice this week in his seemingly miraculous recovery.
Since Rodgers' injury, the Jets have stood behind Zach Wilson and his inconsistent play, but Tim Boyle will get his second start in a row against the Falcons.
“There’s a lot of frustration all over the place, especially on the offensive side of the ball,” Saleh said. “Guys are searching, they’re reaching, and sometimes you've just got to go back to understanding who you are and what your style of play is.”
