WATCH: Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier Scores Second TD vs. Panthers

Atlanta Falcons running back Tyler Allgeier scored his second touchdown of the game against the Carolina Panthers.
In this story:

Much has been made about Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Bijan Robinson, and rightfully so, as the No. 8 overall pick has a chance to become one of the league's most exciting playmakers.

But Falcons second year ballcarrier Tyler Allgeier is here to remind those around the league that he's not going anywhere.

Allgeier, who broke Atlanta's rooking rushing record last season with 1,035 yards, has picked up right where he left off in Sunday's season opener against the Carolina Panthers inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The 2022 fifth-round pick ran for a score early in the fourth quarter to give the Falcons the lead and followed it up with a put-away score halfway through the quarter.

Here's Allgeier's second rushing touchdown of the game ...

Allgeier had three touchdowns during his rookie season and is now only one away from matching that mark this year.

He also proved to be quite involved in Atlanta's rushing offense, receiving more carries than Robinson while taking 15 carries for 74 yards with just under three minutes to play. Allgeier also has three receptions for 19 yards.

Together, Allgeier and Robinson have been a dynamic duo against Carolina, accumulating 130 yards on 25 carries while making nine catches for 46 yards.

The Falcons' offense is notoriously ground-heavy, and Allgeier will have plenty of opportunities to continue to star throughout this season, even when Cordarrelle Patterson returns from the thigh injury that kept him out versus the Panthers.

And so, while Allgeier may not be the most talked about running back on Atlanta's roster, it doesn't particularly matter - he just keeps on producing.
