Drake London on Rookie Season Goal: 'Trying to Get More' for Falcons

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Drake London offers his thoughts on his rookie season.

The Atlanta Falcons had a lot of faith when making wide receiver Drake London out of the University of Southern California their first-round pick this past April.

And with the Falcons moving on from former top wideout Calvin Ridley via trade - not that he was ever coming back to Atlanta - the team seems to have turned the page while doubling-down on the belief in the rookie.

Still, with 407 yards and three touchdowns on 38 receptions, which leads the team, London still believes he has a lot of room for improvement.

"Everything, all aspects of the game." London said recently. "This is my first season, so I've got a lot to improve on, a lot left on the plate out there. So, I think, (a goal is to) improve in all aspects."

Making the jump from the college to the pro level does not always yield results, but that has not been the case for the former Trojan. This is, in many regards, a run-first offense. That is the best way, for better or for worse, to explain why London's numbers (not to mention those of gifted young tight end Kyle Pitts) aren't even larger.

Still, London seems pleased with the direction in which things are going.

"At the end of the day, I'm living out my dream. I'm playing in the NFL right now, (and) being pretty productive in it," London added. "That's all I can ask for, but ... there's a lot left on the plate out there. I'm a competitor, so I'm trying to get more."

The Falcons sit second in the NFC South at 4-6, currently riding a two-game losing streak; London still believes that this team is "pushing forward in the right direction."

And "more'' London, in the context of more victories, would be a very good thing for the Falcons.
