The Atlanta Falcons are making some moves with their wide receiver corps.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Falcons are trading for Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson. In the deal, Atlanta is sending a 2025 sixth-round pick to Los Angeles for a 2025 seventh-round pick and Jefferson.

Earlier today, it was reported by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler that the Rams were seeking a trade for Jefferson and it didn't take them long to find one.

Jefferson, 27, has appeared in all five games for the Rams this season, but his involvement in the offense has dwindled every week since the opener.

With Cooper Kupp returning from injury and rookie Puka Nacua emerging as a breakout star, Jefferson's role within the Rams offense was shrinking. Now, he has a chance to join Drake London, Mack Hollins and Scotty Miller in the Falcons receiver room. He also is set to reunite with his college teammate Kyle Pitts, whom he played with at Florida from 2018-19.

In Week 1, saw five targets, making four catches for 24 yards. In Week 2, he was targeted four times, while in Week 3 and Week 4, he was targeted three times.

On Sunday in their most recent matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles, Jefferson was completely invisible, playing just two snaps, and being targeted precisely zero times.

And through those five games, he has a total of just eight catches for 108 yards.

Now, Jefferson has a fresh start as he hopes to push the Falcons offense to new heights and a playoff appearance for the first time in six seasons.

Jefferson will have an opportunity to make his Falcons debut this Sunday when the team hosts the Washington Commanders. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
