Could Falcons Sign Atlanta Native, Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers in Free Agency?

Jakobi Meyers of the New England Patriots is one of the top free agent wide receivers this offseason. Could the Atlanta Falcons sign him to pair with Drake London?
In this story:

The Atlanta Falcons could look to make an upgrade to their wide receiver corps in the free agent market.

While it isn't a historic wide receiver class hitting free agency this year, there are still several players that can improve the Falcons' pass-catching.

Among the top options is New England Patriots wideout and Atlanta native Jakobi Meyers, who Bleacher Report suggested as a target for the Falcons.

"Drake London and Kyle Pitts—the latter of whom is more of a slot receiver than a tight end—give the Atlanta Falcons an appealing offensive foundation," Bleacher Report writes. "Meyers could add some valuable experience to the unit."

Given the Falcons' $66.8 million in cap space, Atlanta will be able to shell out decent-sized checks to many high-profile free agents, including Meyers.

After going undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft, Meyers has proven pundits and general managers wrong in his first four years in the league.

This past season, Meyers played 14 games and caught 67 receptions for 804 yards and six touchdowns. Had he stayed healthy, there would have been a good chance for him to break the 1,000-yard threshold for the first time in his career.

Meyers would give the Falcons another weapon to team up with Drake London and Kyle Pitts, perhaps taking the attention off of them and opening up opportunities for targets all around.

While Meyers doesn't immediately turn the Falcons into a contender, he can be a small part of the change in Atlanta in order to bring the team back to the playoffs.
