Falcons Icon Deion Sanders to Undergo 2 More Surgeries

Atlanta Falcons legend Deion Sanders is going under the knife twice on Thursday … again.

Atlanta Falcons legend Deion Sanders is not out of the clear just yet after having undergone a series of recent due to complications with blood clots. 

Sanders is reportedly set to "undergo two more surgeries on leg and foot Thursday."

Sanders, the new head coach for the Colorado Buffaloes, is getting work done to his left toes to get them straightened out so that they "no longer give him pain" when wearing shoes. He has already undergone surgical procedures that include having to have his big toe and his second toe amputated because of blood clots that run down his leg, from the top of his calf to his foot.

The surgeries on Thursday will also address blood clots in Sanders' right leg.

The former Falcons and Dallas Cowboys standout spent much of the 2021 season on the sidelines with the Jackson State Tigers on crutches and a scooter due to the clots and the complications that came from them. He actually missed three games during 2021 due to medical problems with his foot. 

Despite facing health issues - which he’s been told could result in the amputation of a foot - Sanders went 27-6 in his three years at Jackson State in part due to an ability to recruit big-name players. His success with the Tigers landed him the head coaching gig in Colorado this offseason and Sanders has now been tasked with turning the program around.
