'It Was a S*** Show!' Matt Ryan Reveals Feelings on Falcons Trade

The 2016 MVP Matt Ryan says that "a s*** show of 18 months basically is the best way to describe" the trade transition time from the Falcons to the Colts.
In this story:

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is a beloved legend who at age 38 is still entertaining the idea of coming out of retirement to play again. What might stop him from doing so? One would think a repeat of his career-ending "s*** show" might do it.

"I mean, it was a shit show," Ryan said of the turbulent time that saw him bounce from a rough 2021 season in Atlanta to an even rougher 2022 season with the Indianapolis Colts.

Ryan’s fall was a steep one, going from throwing nearly 4,000 yards in 2021 with the Falcons - even in an otherwise subpar year - to getting his role as a starting quarterback stripped from him in 2022 after Atlanta had traded Ryan to the Colts.

Ryan started 12 games there, throwing 14 touchdowns and 13 interceptions for a 42.9 quarterback rating, 36.7 points lower than his peak performance.

The 2016 MVP recently told The Athletic that "a s*** show of 18 months basically is the best way to describe it. But I think everybody in our family handled it well and came out of it stronger and in a really good spot."

He's now prepping to work an an analyst for CBS Sports ... but still has one eye on that football field.

“I’m staying in shape. I think it is kind of, ‘You know my number. You know where I’m at,’” Ryan said. “If anything were to come up, you know, we’ll see. (CBS) is where my focus is at right now. But we’ll see how the season shakes out.”

So for now? The "show" is on TV. And Ryan's job is to make it, you know, not ... you know.
