Jonathan Taylor Returns: Colts vs. Falcons, Pittman, Moss Fantasy Injury Status
The Atlanta Falcons won't have to face one of the Indianapolis Colts' top running backs on Sunday. Nor will they face their top receiver.
Colts running back Zack Moss is out with a shoulder injury, and receiver Michael Pittman is out due to a concussion.
But there's a "but" in regard to the Colts' heavy lifter now on offense because Jonathan Taylor is scheduled to return.
Moss, 26, hurt himself in last Saturday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Moss has helped carry the load for Indy with star running back Taylor missing large portions of the season. Moss, the former third-round pick out of Utah, has already shattered his career-best marks with 764 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the season.
X-rays on Moss' shoulder were negative, but Moss didn't progress enough during the week to be ready to play. But luckily for the Colts, Moss's injury comes at the same time where Taylor is set to return.
'It Doesn't Hurt!' Can Atlanta Win 3 Straight?
Taylor, 24, hasn't played since Nov. 26, but the 2021 NFL rushing champ is set to return Sunday after missing the past three games with a thumb injury.
The Falcons rank towards the middle of the pack in rushing defense, allowing an average of 112.2 yards per game.
The Colts and Falcons are set to kick off at 1 p.m. ET inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday.
