The Falcons are just one game back of a Wild Card spot, but winning the division is preferred since it guarantees a home playoff game.

Atlanta has six games to go, but only one of those comes against a team that is over .500. That contest comes against the 6-5 Indianapolis Colts at home on Christmas Eve.

The team's 3-0 record in the division has helped Atlanta reach the top spot in the NFC South, and the last three games in the division will be key in determining who comes out on top.

In Week 14, the Falcons play the Buccaneers in their fourth divisional game, followed by the Panthers in Week 15.

If the Falcons don't build a lead larger than a game before Week 18, they could be in a play-in game against the Saints for the season finale.
