The Atlanta Falcons have just two games left on their schedule before the playoffs, but it could be the draft instead of the postseason that the team has on its agenda.

Heading into Week 17, the Falcons are 7-8, which places them currently with the No. 10 pick. However, with games against the 6-9 Chicago Bears and 7-8 New Orleans Saints still left on the schedule, their position is subject to change.

Atlanta still has a slim shot to qualify for the playoffs, either by winning the NFC South or claiming one of the two Wild Card spots still up for grabs. This means the Falcons are still going to play for a playoff spot this week. However, a loss to the Bears could eliminate the Falcons and warrant a second-string showdown against the Saints to close out the season in Week 18.

NFL.com believes there could be a chance that the Falcons go for another skill player with a top-10 pick for the fourth consecutive year.

Broncos Bench Russ; Falcons QB Option for '24?

"Atlanta needed more receivers to run with Drake London heading into last year's draft but did not select any pass catchers. Trading for impending free agent Van Jefferson has not had a major impact, and the veteran receivers backing up London (Mack Hollins, Scotty Miller and KhaDarel Hodge) are all heading to free agency. No matter who the team's quarterback may be in 2024, he'll need more reliable targets to effectively move the offense."

The Falcons are set to face the Bears on Sunday. Kickoff on New Year's Eve is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
