NFL Power Rankings: Where Are Falcons After Super Bowl?

The Atlanta Falcons are beginning a new era with Raheem Morris coaching the team. Where does that place them in this week's power rankings?
In this story:

The Super Bowl has come and gone and all 32 teams are beginning to put their focus towards next season.

The Atlanta Falcons got a head start after missing the playoffs. They ushered in a new era in franchise history, firing coach Arthur Smith and replacing him with Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.

The Falcons still have a lot of work to do, which is why ESPN placed the team at No. 26 in their latest power rankings.

"Now that Atlanta has hired a new coach (Raheem Morris) and offensive coordinator (Zac Robinson), the franchise has to figure out who is going to be running the show," ESPN writes. "That Morris didn't mention Taylor Heinicke or Desmond Ridder when he answered questions about the quarterback position at his introductory news conference said a lot -- especially since he named a bunch of outside ways to get better play at the position. Does it come through the draft? Free agency? A trade? Any -- or possibly more than one -- are possibilities."

Once the Falcons figure out what they are going to do at quarterback, whether they trade for someone like Justin Fields, sign a veteran like Kirk Cousins or draft a top rookie like Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye, then there will be more reasonable expectations placed upon them for the 2024 season.
