Eagles LB T.J. Edwards Free Agency 'Fit' For Falcons?

The Atlanta Falcons might be looking for linebackers in free agency. Could Philadelphia Eagles leading tackler T.J. Edwards be the answer?
In this story:

The Atlanta Falcons could be looking for an upgrade at the linebacker position this offseason.

With Rashaan Evans hitting free agency and second-year pro Troy Andersen not fully ready for a leading role, the Falcons could look for a top tackler to lead Atlanta's defense in 2023.

ESPN suggests Philadelphia Eagles linebacker T.J. Edwards would best fit with the Falcons.

"Edwards is a stack linebacker who will key and diagnose quickly versus the run, and he has the second-level range to impact zone windows," ESPN writes. "His 159 tackles tied for sixth in the NFL last season, and he can be schemed as a blitzer in both base and sub-personnel packages. Atlanta ranked 25th in yards allowed per play in 2022 (5.7), and it needs a playmaker in the middle of the defense."

Edwards, who turns 27 this offseason, went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft but found a home with the Eagles and has grown in each of his four seasons.

Edwards is seeking his first big contract in the NFL and the Falcons have money to spend. Atlanta holds the second-most cap space in the league behind the Chicago Bears, and if interested, could offer Edwards a deal that no other team can.
