Bucs Sign Baker Mayfield; Falcons Move to Kirk Cousins?
Baker Mayfield's free agency has come to an end.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are re-signing Mayfield to a three-year deal worth $100 million.
Mayfield parlayed his Rams stint to a one-year prove-it deal with the Buccaneers and arguably had the best season of his career. He set career-highs, throwing for 4,044 yards and 28 touchdowns, and led the Bucs to winning the NFC South and a playoff game last season.
Ridder Trade 'An Option' As Falcons Seek New QB
With Mayfield back quarterbacking one of the Falcons' biggest rivals, Atlanta can now shift to the other quarterbacks on the market, including Kirk Cousins.
Cousins is the top free agent signal caller on the market alongside Mayfield, and the Falcons should know in the coming days whether he is an option.
If Cousins doesn't materialize, it makes the Falcons a top candidate for a Justin Fields trade or signing Russell Wilson.
The NFL's legal tampering period begins tomorrow at 12 noon.
