The New York Giants have hired Frank Piraino as their strength and conditioning director, ESPN reports. Piraino will join the player performance staff led by Aaron Wellman, who was hired last month as the team's executive director of player performance.

Piraino comes to the Giants from the Tennessee Titans, where he spent the last five seasons, the two most recent of which as the team's director of sports performance. Before joining the Titans staff, Piraino had been in the high school and college coaching ranks for 16 years, including six seasons at Boston College (2013-2018).

Piraino's other notable college coaching stops include five seasons at Florida (2005-2009) and one at Notre Dame (2004).

The Giants were tied for the fourth-most injured team last season with the New England Patriots. Meanwhile, the Titans didn't fare any better in the injury department, placing 20 players on IR during the 2023 season, according to Spotrac (one less than the Giants), ranking them as the fifth most injured team last year.
