Jeremiah's pick is on the offensive side of the ball, but no, it's not a quarterback.

NFL Mock draft season is fully underway, and over the next several weeks, it will be a guessing game as to how the 32 NFL teams decide to go with their 2024 draft plans.

That includes the New York Giants, who currently hold the sixth overall pick in the draft for what will be the sixth time in their franchise’s history. And according to NFL.com’s Daniel Jeremiah, he’s projecting the Giants sit tight at No. 6 and draft LSU receiver Malik Nabers in the first round.

Notes Jeremiah of his selection:

This continues the Giants’ quest from last offseason to add team speed. Nabers is the most explosive wideout in the draft.

Jeremiah’s reasoning makes sense, for if the top three quarterbacks in the draft—Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels—are all off the board within the first three picks, as Jeremiah suggests might be the case in his initial mock draft, the Giants may as well sit tight and go best player available to help build the league’s 32nd ranked offense last year.

But Nabers is a player who can help fix that. Keith Sanches, co-host of the Locked On NFL Draft podcast and talent evaluator for the Pro Football NEtowrk note that Nabers, "has the complete package of explosiveness, acceleration, and strength that allows him to be a great route-runner and physically dominant in run-after-catch situations.”

Of course, going the receiver route means the Giants would be eschewing adding Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt to the mix at a position that many feel needs an upgrade. However, Jeremiah said this is a “very deep group of offensive tackles” in this year's class.

The Giants are counting on new offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo to work his magic in fixing an inconsistent and underperforming offensive line. However, it would be surprising if Giants general manager Joe Schoen doesn't add to the group.
