Giants Fans React on Social Media to Another Embarassing Loss
Fans of the New York Giants have a tendency to offer their opinions on the team to anyone who will listen.
The same is true for those who let their feelings be known on social media.
In recent weeks, fans of the team have taken to voicing their displeasure at either former starting quarterback Daniel Jones or coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen.
With Jones no longer on the roster, picking on Jones was not an option.
Or was it?
Welcome back to the starting lineup Tommy DeVito. No one was going to single out DeVito by name, but instead they just went after the team as a whole.
Someone on X actually stood up for DeVito as Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield used DeVito's celebration mantra after scoring a touchdown on the ground.
However, DeVito cannot be blamed for this loss on his own. There is plenty of blame to go around. DeVito had a mediocre game, but he did go 21-of-31 for 189 yards and did not throw an interception. The Giants even scored a touchdown at home in DeVito's first game as the starter.
The biggest problem was his supporting cast.
The Giants offensive line could not protect DeVito as he was sacked four times. The offense as a whole could not get going other than the Giants' lone touchdown drive in the fourth quarter when Devin Singletary scored from one yard out after a long scramble by DeVito.
DeVito, who has been nicknamed "Tommy Cutlets" was reduced prior to kickoff to Tommy Nuggets by one mother of a Giants' fan.
This fan did not even wait until kickoff to voice his displeasure about the Giants' season. @TheEntertainah cannot wait for the off-season to start, presumably so the roster can be flipped in free agency and the NFL Draft. It appears that 11 weeks of slow torture can wear down even the most diehard fan.
The game against Tampa, which started 45 minutes after this post probably contributed to even greater mounting frustration among fans of the Big Blue. This fan is probably even more disappointed and angry as the game ended.
This Giants fan did not even want to wait until halftime to voice his displeasure over the performance of the Giants against Tampa Bay.
The poster, @MarshallGreen_, apparently believes with six games left, the Giants have folded up their tents and have given up on the season.
With the poor tackling and bad blocking up front, it could lead one to wonder how much of this statement is accurate. Had he held his comment in check until the end of the game, he would have been able to add some more punch to it possibly.
User Evan3786934 just made a plain and simple statement on the state of the New York Giants team. When the team is looking at a 2-9 record, it is a fairly accurate representation. The team is not playing good football. There just might be some merit to Evan's statement.
Instead of getting ready for the second quarter, "ToddyWoddy1330" is filling out the Giants' draft card for the first pick of next season's NFL Draft. If Todd would only tell everyone who he is selecting with the pick, Giants fans would know whether Todd was general manager material.
"TerryFranconia" can barely stand to watch the Giants on television. He is making the representation that other fans do not want to watch it either. Kendrick Lamar could not have written a better song for the Giants fans watching the game at home or at a local establishment.
This New Yorker does not even want to have the name "New York" associated with the Giants. @Mike Crispi believes the Giants should be associated with the state of New Jersey. He believes they should start a new.
