EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Giants left tackle Nate Solder, who has battled through all kinds of injuries, was ruled out in the second quarter in Sunday's game against the Jets.

The Giants are already thin on the offensive line at tackle with Mike Remmers, the starter on the right side, inactive due to a back ailment.

With Remmers and Solder both sidelined, the Giants are going with a pair of second-year offensive tackles in Nick Gates and one-time Jet offensive lineman Eric Smith at right and left tackle respectively.
