LIVE BLOG: Follow New York Giants' Week 7 Game vs. Washington Commanders
If there was ever a time for the New York Giants to get back on track and snap this four-game-long losing streak, this weekend would be it.
The Giants, who host the Washington Commanders, are 6-3-1 against their NFC East rivals over the last ten games (since 2018), a mark that includes a 2-1-1 record at home and a 1-0-1 record last year.
Last week, the Giants, who remain caught in the throes of the injury bug, actually put up a solid fight against the Buffalo Bills, even going so far as to have a lead for three quarters, the first such time this season the Giants have done that.
In the end, though, New York's inability to convert in the red zone, where they went zero for five, hurt them, particularly on one play at the end of the first half when quarterback Tyrod Taylor, in for the injured Daniel Jones, having the ball on the Bills' 1-yard line, audibled out of a pass play in favor of a slow-developing running play that was stopped short of the goal line.
Taylor projects to be back under center again this week with Jones (neck) still ailing and will have a new offensive line combination, thanks to injuries. The defense, meanwhile, has put together two solid showings and will look to deliver a third in what will hopefully be a winning effort.
