LIVE BLOG: Follow New York Giants' Week 17 Game vs. Los Angeles Rams
There's nothing left for the New York Giants to play for in these two remaining games of a season gone astray.
But don't tell that to the Giants, who, to the chagrin of part of the fan base, are more concerned about getting a win over the red-hot Los Angeles Rams than they are jockeying for the best spot in the 2024 draft order.
"This is the NFL. Go out there and compete, try to win," said running back Saquon Barkley of the team's approach to these last two games. "That's the weekly goal: go out and try to find a way to win the football game, and it doesn't change. We'll be going home in two weeks, so the mindset is to try to finish the season as strong as possible."
To strengthen their chances of winning, head coach Brian Daboll decided to start quarterback Tyrod Taylor over rookie Tommy DeVito, believing that Taylor, who did provide something of a spark in the second half of last week's loss to the Eagles, would give them the best chance of winning.
“I thought Ty did some good things in the second half of Philly, so I thought he earned the right to start this game," Daboll said after confirming Taylor would get the start.
While Taylor was slightly more effective in moving the offense against the Eagles, unless he is somehow prepared to enter into a shootout with the red-hot Rams offense, the quarterback change might not matter as much as people think.
Or, as the case would have it, care. That said, follow along with our live blog as we chronicle the key plays, stats, and observations from the game, with contributions from Giants Country editor Patricia Traina and analysts Coach Gene Clemons and Tommy G. Our live coverage starts at noon ET.
