New York Giants RB Saquon Barkley Active for Sunday Night Football
New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley, who has missed the last three games with a high ankle sprain, is active for tonight's Week 6 primetime game against Buffalo.
Barkley, who has been a limited participant in practice the last two weeks, went through a pre-game warmup to test his ankle out and got through that well enough to satisfy the trainers and head coach Brian Daboll.
The expectation is that Barkley will be on a pitch count for his first game action since injuring his ankle at the end of the Giants' Week 2 game against the Arizona Cardinals, with Matt Breida likely to take the bulk of the running back snaps.
The other Giants inactive are defensive backs Bobby McCain and Gervarrius Owens (both healthy scratches) and defensive lineman D.J. Davidson, who was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report with a knee issue.
They join quarterback Daniel Jones (neck), left tackle Andrew Thomas (hamstring), center John Michael Schmitz (shoulder), and tackle Matt Peart (shoulder), all of whom were declared out on Friday on the inactive list.
The Bills inactive list includes safety Damar Hamlin, cornerback Dane Jackson, outside linebacker A.J. Klein, tackle Germain Ifedi, guard Alec Anderson, and tight end Dalton Kincaid.
