How to Watch Super Bowl XLVIII: San Francisco 49ers vs. Kansas City Chiefs
The rematch is set for Super Bowl Sunday.
Four years later, the Chiefs and 49ers meet again in the biggest game of the NFL season. The last time these two teams met in the Super Bowl, the Chiefs won 31-20, with Patrick Mahomes earning his first Super Bowl ring.
Both teams looked very different, with Jimmy Garoppolo, who started for the Niners and, Raheem Mostert in the backfield, and Kendrick Bourne leading the team in receiving yards that game. The Chiefs had Damien Williams rush for 104 yards, and Tyreek Hill added 105 yards through the air.
None of those five players are with either team now. The Niners boast the best offensive skill player group in the league, with Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle. Brock Purdy is also the starting quarterback, as his story from ‘Mr. Irrelevant’ to potential Super Bowl champion continues to grow.
As for the Chiefs, they had a rocky start to the season, with receivers dropping passes left and right. They turned things around once the playoffs came and now look like the Chiefs everyone knows. Mahomes and Kelce are still tearing up defenses, except this time, they have Isaiah Pacheco in the backfield and Rashee Rice being the team’s leader in receiving yards among wideouts.
This game is going to be a good one.
