And it's someone with whom they're familiar.

The New York Giants have agreed to terms with former Colts linebacker Bobby Okereke on a reported four-year, $40 million contract with $22 million guaranteed.

The pending signing was first reported by NFL insider Jordan Schultz.

The 27-year-old Okereke was the Colts' third-round pick in 2019. Last season, he appeared in 17 games with 16 starts and finished with a career-high 151 tackles (99 solos) and six tackles for loss. It was his second straight season with over 100 total tackles.

In coverage, the 6-foot-1, 235-pound Okereke allowed 73 of 93 pass targets to be completed for 651 yards and two touchdowns, and he posted four pass breakups.

Last year in a game against the Giants, Okereke finished with a team-leading 17 tackles, 14 of which were solo. He also laid a nasty hit against the head/neck area of Giants quarterback Daniel Jones.

Okereke figures to move right into the starting lineup at a position that last year saw the Giants go through four different players, more so due to performance than injury.
