Haddy is back in the house!

New York Giants defensive lineman/outside linebacker Jihad Ward is returning on a one-year deal for a second season in New York. Ward inferred his intention to return via his social media account.

Ward, a favorite of defensive coordinator Wink Martindale's, posted 43 tackles and three sacks last season. The 28-year-old appeared in 17 games with 11 starts and had four pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and 13 quarterback hits, his quarterback hits tying him with Kayvon Thibodeaux for second most on the team last year.

His versatility allowed Martindale to line him up with his hand in the dirt or standing up on the edge.

Ward was one of the vocal leaders in the locker room whom general manager Joe Schoen was undoubtedly thinking of when he told reporters a couple of weeks ago that he didn't want to see leadership walk out of the building.

The eight-year veteran played for the Raiders, Cowboys, Colts, Ravens, and Jaguars before joining the Giants last year.
