In an expected move, the New York Giants re-signed receiver/punt returner Gunner Olszewski to a one-year contract.

Olszewski joined the Giants on October 23 of last year, first as a practice squad member. Five days later, he was promoted to the roster and stabilized the team's punt return situation after the experiment to have rookie running back Eric Gray didn't pan out.

Olszewski, who began his NFL career in 2019 as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots before spending the 2022 and part of the 2023 season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 17 after he returned a 94-yard punt for a touchdown in the Giants' loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Olszewski's punt return for a touchdown, the second of his career, was one yard shy of the club record set in 1928 by Al Bloodgood.

Olszewski finished the season averaging 11.9 yards per return in 10 games.
