The New York Giants have signed former Broncos tight end Chris Manhertz. Manhertz, who is primarily a blocking tight end, was released by the Broncos on March 8 as part of a salary cap crunch. He's appeared in 120 career games with 53 starts and has caught 26 of 40 pass targets for 271 yards and two touchdowns.

Manhertz, 6-6 and 235 pounds, originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2015 out of Canisius, signing with the Buffalo Bills. After failing to make the Bills roster, he signed with the New Orleans Saints practice squad before eventually being promoted to the 53-man roster. He was released just before the start of 2016 and was claimed off waivers by the Carolina Panthers, for whom he played 2016 through 2020.

In 2021, Manhetz moved to Jacksonville, where he was with the Jaguars for two seasons. Manhertz holds the distinction of having caught Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence's first career touchdown pass, a 22-yard strike in a game against the Houston Texans.

After his contract with the Jaguars ran out, Manhertz signed a two-year, $6.65 million deal with the Broncos as a free agent in March 2023. He appeared in 16 games with Denver with four starts and caught two passes on four targets for 16 yards in his one and only season with Denver.

According to Pro Football Focus, Manhertz has a career pass-blocking efficiency rating of 97.0.
