Baker Mayfield "cannot believe" Giants drafted Daniel Jones

Browns quarterback takes a not-so subtle jab at Giants.

Whatever happened to the good old days, when players took the high road when asked about other teams, and minded their own stores?

Apparently, that's a lost art on some of today's athletes.

Take for example Odell Beckham Jr and quarterback Baker Mayfield of the Cleveland Browns, both of whom, judging by their inability to take the high road when asked about the Giants, seem to be allowing the New York Giants to reside rent-free in their heads ever since New York sent Beckham to Cleveland.

Mayfield in the forthcoming September issue of GQ (the same magazine that in its August issue brought you the explosive Beckham interview in which he expressed feeling disrespected after everything he had done for the team.

Mayfield, in the latest GQ issue, offered the following opinion about the Giants' decision to draft Daniel Jones No. 6 overall.

“I cannot believe the Giants took Daniel Jones. Blows my mind…Some people overthink it [what makes a good quarterback]. That’s where they go wrong. They forget you’ve gotta win.”

Mayfield, for what it's worth, is 6-7 as an NFL starter. He also finished second behind Giants running back Saquon Barkley in voting for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year last season.
