Giants Assistant GM Brandon Brown Gets Second Interview for Chargers GM Job

It seems like it's only a matter of time before Brown departs the Giants.

It's only a matter of time before New York Giants assistant general manager Brandon Brown gets scooped up by another team for its general manager position.

Brown, who drew interest from Carolina only to lose out on that role to Dan Morgan, made the initial cut for the Los Angeles Chargers general manager job, as Brown will receive a second interview for the position.

The 35-year-old Brown came to the Giants in 2022 from the Philadelphia Eagles, where he was among Eagles general manager Howie Roseman's righthand people. In his role with the Giants, Brown has focused heavily on scouting and assisting general manager Joe Schoen with special projects.

The Giants are about to embark on a critical off-season after an underwhelming 6-11 season in which numerous roster holes were exploited. Brown has presumably been a big part of the meetings with Schoen, the scouts, and the coaching staff as they formulate an action plan on how to get the Giants back to resembling the team that finished 9-7-1 and with a playoff berth in 2022.

As for the Chargers, they have a more solid roster that has underperformed. Los Angeles fired its general manager, Tom Telesco (now the general manager of the Las Vegas Raiders), and head coach Brandon Staley after a blowout loss to the Raiders on December 15.

The Chargers are reportedly in talks with Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh to become their new head coach.
