New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones (neck) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders.

Jones, limited in practice this week, was initially injured two weeks ago against the Dolphins. He didn't practice last week but revealed that he could throw the ball. However, the big hurdle that Jones needs to overcome if he is to return to the starting lineup this weekend is that he needs to be cleared for contact, which head coach Brian Daboll said was not the case as of the team's Friday practice.

That said, Daboll remained hopeful of getting Jones back, saying there was a chance. "We’re talking to medical people and just take it day by day here," he added.

Tyrod Taylor is believed to have taken the majority of the reps in practice this week, another factor that the coaching staff will likely need to consider when deciding on Jones. While he has a chance for this weekend, it appears to be a long shot.

Daboll said he had no concerns about playing Jones if he's cleared, although he hadn't taken any team reps.

"He’s played a lot of football for us," Daboll said. "He’s been in the system for a while. So, again, we’ll take that one, get all the information, and then make the right decision for him and us."

In addition to Jones, cornerback Adoree' Jackson (neck) and right tackle Evan Neal (ankle) are also listed as questionable for Sunday's game. Jackson has been able to practice on a limited basis all week, so the thought is that he should be good to go.

Neal did not practice Wednesday or Friday--he was limited but labored in his movement on Thursday--and appears unlikely to be ready for Sunday's game. If he can't go, Tyre Phillips, whom the team signed off the Eagles practice squad this week, would presumably get the start at right tackle, something he did for the Giants last year when Neal dealt with a knee injury.

Left tackle Andrew Thomas (hamstring), center John Michael Schmitz (shoulder), and tackle Matt Peart (shoulder) have all been declared out of Sunday's contest. With Joshua Ezeudu (toe) on injured reserve, Justin Pugh, who was signed to the 53-man roster this week, is projected to be the starter.

"Not yet determined," Daboll said when asked, adding, "Possibly."

In some positive news, running back Saquon Barkley (ankle) did not receive an injury designation, so he's good to go despite being limited in practice this week. Kicker Graham Gano (left knee), who was also on the injury report as limited, is also good to go.
