New York Giants Special Assistant to General Manager (and former linebacker) Jessie Armstead has reportedly been sought for a similar role by the Las Vegas Raiders but will remain with the Giants, with whom he's under contract, the New York Post reported.

Armstead has no known connection with new Raiders general manager Tom Telesco, but he does have a strong history with new Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce. The two were initially teammates with the Washington Commanders during the 2002-2003 seasons when Armstead joined the team after a nine-year career in New York.

Armstead later joined the Giants as a part-time front office assistant who would also help with the coaching during training camp while Pierce built up his coaching resume, first at the high school level and then at the college level before landing in the NFL.
