That plus more transactions to start training camp.

The New York Giants placed six players on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list to start training camp, five recovering from torn ACLs suffered last season.

The list includes receivers Sterling Shepard and Wan’Dale Robinson, cornerback Aaron Robinson, defensive tackle D.J. Davidson, guard Marcus McKethan, and defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson, who is recovering from a torn meniscus suffered last season with the Rams.

The Giants also placed receiver Jamison Crowder on the Reserve/Non-Football injury list with a calf issue. Defensive tackle Vernon Butler was placed on the reserve/did not report list. And cornerback Leonard Johnson (knee) was waived off injured reserve with an injury settlement.

Players that land on the PUP list during training camp do count against the 90-man roster during camp. They do, however, count against the roster during the season.

Players can come off PUP any time during training camp. They can't return until Week 4 at the earliest during the season. And once a player comes off PUP, he can't be put back on it if he gets injured.
