Giants RB Coach Jeff Nixon Hired by Syracuse

Nixon leaves the Giants after only one season.

New York Giants running backs coach Jeff Nixon, who is finishing his first season with the team, has been hired as the offensive coordinator role at Syracuse University.

The 49-year-old Nixon, who boasts over 25 years of coaching experience, came to the Giants from the Carolina Panthers, where he had been since 2020, first as the team's running backs coach and then later as an interim offensive coordinator and assistant head coach.

Some of Nixon's other NFL stops include offensive/special teams assistant for the Eagles (2007-2010). running back coach for the Dolphins (2011-2015) and tight ends coach for the 49ers (2016).

He had also been the co-offensive coordinator and running backs coach for Baylor (2017-2019) under then-head coach Matt Rhule, who was later hired as the Panther's head coach.
