New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard has passed his team physical and is coming off the PUP list.

Shepard tore his ACL in a Week 3 loss to the Cowboys last year. The non-contact injury came nine months and seven days after tearing his left Achilles tendon the year prior.

Shepard, who always maintained that he was ahead of schedule in his rehab, did some running and light cutting over the spring OTAs. He was re-signed to a one-year contract this off-season after endearing himself to the new coaching staff for his positivity, work ethic, and commitment to his teammates, even after suffering the injury.

Shepard will see limited reps in his first action back and will ramp up gradually each day, barring no setbacks.

In other injury news, receiver Jamison Crowder, who began training camp on the reserve/non-football injury list, was also activated today. Receiver Cole Beasley (quad), defensive lineman Rakeem Nunez-Roches (concussion), and defensive back Gervarrius Owens (unknown) also returned to practice on Sunday.

Beasley had missed Friday's practice after taking a knee to his quad. Nunex-Roches has yet to practice after landing in the protocol following a minor car accident he endured while leaving the team facility Tuesday. Owens was dinged on the first day of training camp when he collided with teammate Tre Hawkins III defending a play.

Outside linebacker Jihad Ward (undisclosed) and tight end Ryan Jones (knee) did not practice Sunday.
