Giants QB Tommy DeVito Files Trademark Applications
New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito is looking to grow his brand thanks to his being thrust into the spotlight as the starting quarterback in a lost season that saw injuries to the two guys ahead of him on the depth chart, Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor.
DeVito, who recently hired Maxx Lepselter of Maxx MGMT to serve as his marketing agent, has applied for two trademarks, including"Tommy Cutlets" and "Passing Paisano" with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), according to trademark attorney Josh Gerben, of Gerben IP.
According to records pulled by Gerben, the trademark filing claims that DeVito plans to sell branded decals, clothing, pasta, pizza, tomato sauces, and energy drinks. : Decals Clothing Pasta Pizza Tomato sauces Energy Drinks.
According to the U.S. Patent and Trademark online database, the filings were done on December 19 under DeVito's new LLC, "TD LLC."
According to the USPTO website, granting a trademark can take anywhere from 12 to 18 months with "no guarantee your trademark will ever register, as it may be refused for various legal reasons."
