Tommy DeVito Latest Giant to Back Saquon Barkley's Quest for Big Payday

Add DeVito to the growing list of Giants who are in favor of seeing Saquon Barkley get paid during his upcoming contract talks.

New York Giants quarterback Tommy DeVito is the latest member of the team to throw his support behind running back Saquon Barkley getting paid what he's worth during his upcoming contract negotiations.

In an interview with Complex published January 24, DeVito, who finished his rookie season with a 3-3 record as a starting quarterback, said that the respect he and his teammates have for the 26-year-old running back is universal.

“I want them to call the Brink’s truck and come drop off the cash at the front door,” DeVito said during the interview, which was also done with Barkley as part of a marketing promotion for Marriott Bonvoy.

"I want him to be in the backfield with me and all my team because I think he is the best teammate in the NFL, the best teammate I've had around."

DeVito's sentiments echo that of outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux and former teammate Cole Beasley, who have thrown their support behind Barkley, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent, assuming the Giants don't hit him with the franchise tag, this off-season.

"Obviously, I've played one year in the league, but I've played a lot of football," DeVito added. "He's the best teammate I've ever been around, hands down, for sure."

In 2023, Barkley led the Giants in rushing yardage with 962 yards on 247 carries, adding six rushing touchdowns. He added 280 yards on 41 receptions for another four touchdowns.
