Jaguars vs. Titans: Trevor Lawrence Active, Christian Kirk Inactive

The Jaguars offense will be getting some firepower back in Week 18.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be getting some familiar faces back in the offensive lineup for their must-win Week 18 game vs. the Tennessee Titans.

Wide receiver Zay Jones is active after missing the last two weeks with a hamstring and knee injury, with the knee injury being a reoccurring theme since Week 2. In eight games this year, Jones has caught 28 passes for 274 yards and two touchdowns.

Quarterback Trevor Lawrence is active after missing last week with a shoulder sprain, the first missed start of his career.

Lawrence was replaced by C.J. Beathard in the final quarter of Week 16's 30-12 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, though Lawrence finished the drive he was injured on with a touchdown pass to wide receiver Calvin Ridley. Lawrence ultimately injured his shoulder when diving out of bounds and landing on it near the end of the third quarter.

Lawrence finished the game 17-of-29 for 211 yards and a touchdown, also throwing two interceptions and losing one fumble.

This is the fourth injury Lawrence has sustained this year, following a knee injury in Week 6, an ankle sprain in Week 13, a concussion in Week 15, and now the shoulder injury.

Lawrence's throwing reps in practice increased as the week went on, with Lawrence not throwing in front of media on Wednesday but then doing so on Thursday and then even more so on Friday.

With that said, the Jaguars will be without star slot receiver Christian Kirk. While he was activated off injured reserve on Saturday, he has had just three days of practice since returning from core muscle surgery and it appears a potential Wild Card appearance is more likely for his return.

Inactives include:

  • WR Christian Kirk
  • OLB Yasir Abdullah
  • OL Cole Van Lanen
  • DL Angelo Blackson
  • QB Matt Barkley (emergency No. 3 QB)
